Operation Christmas Miracle Reaches 600 Families

Washington, D.C., December 14, 2012-Tomorrow, Saturday, December 15, Central Union Mission will host the first of two toy distributions to help poor and needy families provide Christmas gifts for their children. Operation Christmas Miracle gets underway at 10 a.m. at 1350 R Street, NW, in Washington, DC. Approximately 600 families will enjoy holiday songs and messages and receive gifts and toys donated by compassionate community members and businesses.

Washington, D.C., December 10, 2012-Central Union Mission annually hosts a toy drive to help poor and needy families give Christmas gifts to their children. This year, however, the Mission is running a little low on toys, especially for older children ages 8 to 11 years old.

Volunteers from Reid Temple AME Church of Glen Dale, Maryland will spend the morning making beds, organizing books, and preparing the Mission for daily program activities.
