Family Programs

Family MinistrySince 1998, Central Union Mission has undertaken a major outreach initiative to poor and low-income families. The Mission's Family Ministry began with two women in a Bible study. Today, the program impacts more than 500 families.

The program provides English language instruction, GED preparation, health consultations, vocational support, and valuable services such as free food, clothing, furniture and household items. The Family Ministry also provides both immediate aid and long-term training to enable families to improve their financial situations.

Outreach

The Family Ministry co-labors with the Mission's other services and programs. The program provides Spanish-language support for many of the Mission's regular programs such as food services, furniture and clothing distribution, and social work.

Central Union Mission serves children through a number of community outreach programs, including holiday, community meals with their families, a school readiness program that provides free backpacks with grade-appropriate school supplies, summer camp, and a Christmas program that provides free toys and clothes.
